Soccer hits

So soccer has started again. For me this means time to talk to moms, Samantha playing with little ones and Mackenzie not fighting me at bed time because she is so tired she just goes to sleep. No fights and she is out! Woo hooo!! What it does not mean is what happened during our first game this season. One little kid on the other team ( She is in the 4-6 year olds league) was checking the kids like they were playing hockey. It was bad. Very Bad. Tripping, shoving and elbowing. To me the sad part was the lack of responsibility the coach took for his team. He made excuses like when we got penalty kicks he explained to his team that those kids fell so they get a special kick.- What a wasted opportunity to explain good sportsmanship to his team. Only once did he make the kid come back and apologize but by this point every parent on our team was following the movements of this kid and yelling for something to be done. Sad that in a game of soccer where the kids are so young we do not keep score that this is a perfectly wasted opportunity to teach children life lessons. Anyways- My vent for the day.
