We lost 7 from our small skid community last night. Fond out today that one of the guys is a friend of Chris'. Guy who went through flight school- the rag- and check into the fleet the same day as Chris. Sucks. Not really knowing how to help someone you love who is going through a loss. Also dealing with it myself but in a different way. They are nice- good people. He was a good dad and husband- they loved it each other very much- he seriously was one of the happiest guys I know.- Always smiling! Seriously sad.
Also sucks that as a military wife- that so could be me.- you kinda have to expect it when the guys are deployed- I mean you have yourself in denial it could happen to you, but a small part is also bracing/ cringing for that awful solemn knock at the door when your world falls apart. I hurt thinking about a friend of mine going through this right now. When it happens and they are home- you are not braced- even a small part- you feel all free and clear because he made it home. And just like that- changed- forever.
